Hot Days… Scattered Storms Ahead… Tuesday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather turned out hot today, with heat index values in the low 100s. A few scattered storms are impacting northwest Alabama as of 4pm, and these storms may drift as far south as I-59 before fizzling out after sunset. Temperatures will dip into the lower to middle 70s overnight.

Wednesday, there’s some evidence we may have a cluster of storms develop and impact areas near and to the north of I-20. The risk looks lower south of I-20. This cluster may develop during the early morning hours in areas to the north of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.

The rain chance will decrease on Thursday, with hot weather. Highs will reach the lower to middle 90s, with a heat index approaching 105.

By Friday and the weekend, we’ll notice an uptick in the number of scattered storms once again. I don’t expect an all day rain, but there is a better chance of dealing with a pop up storm. There is some evidence a surface front will bring a good chance of showers and storms Tuesday of next week..
