Hot, Mostly Sunny Week Ahead. Forecast update Friday 2pm @wvua23 #alwx

7 Day Forecast - 5PM SHOW.pngTGIF everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful safe 4th of July. Today few showers and storms are popping up right now in more east Alabama. These are short-lived and nothing severe so far except a good dose of lightning. West Alabama is staying mostly dry so far due to a more drier airmass sitting over them but a few pop up showers are still possible until around 7 this evening. East Alabama will have a chance for showers until around 10pm but we all will dry out overnight for a mostly clear evening.

It is HOT today! Temperatures are int he low 90s for more north and east counties and in the mid 90s for more central and west counties. ALL of us though are feeling hotter though with dew points in the 70s making the day humid and mucky. Feels like temperatures across the state are in the upper 90s to 100s! 105 is what is feels like in Jasper and 104 in Montgomery!

Over the next few days it is going to be important to keep and eye out for heat advisories being issued because the heat is not letting up and with high dewpoints and hot temps. is it crucial to stay hydrated and take breaks from the outdoors.

Few showers will be possible tomorrow but these will remain scattered and move through quickly. Sunday is the greatest chance for showers and storms and with some more widespread coverage for the day. Highs fortunately will be a little cooler in the low 90s due to the clouds sitting over the state.

The rest of your week looking to be similar to tomorrow with afternoon showers but still a good dose of sunshine for your days!
