Monday Update

Visible SatelliteWhat a terrific day around West Alabama! We’ve had afternoon temperatures around 80 with lots of sunshine. Temperatures started out in the upper 40s, to middle 50s this morning. Eastern parts of the state have seen clouds most of the day. There’s a boundary between the warm air we’re seeing, and some cooler air to the east. You can see where the clouds are on this visible satellite

Tomorrow, it will be equally as nice, with just a few more clouds from time to time.

Wednesday, a cold front tries to approach the area from the northwest, but it won’t make it here. We’ll have plenty of warm, moist air though in place, so we could see a few thunderstorms that afternoon. Some of them could be strong.

Unsettled weather sticks around for Thursday, but rain chances will be small.

Temperatures will stay in the upper 70s to lower 80s through Friday, overnight lows will be in the lower 60s for the same time frame.

Friday, a more potent cold front moves in to the area. This one has the potential to bring us some severe weather. Timing is still hard to pin down right now, we’ll keep you posted on it.

This weekend, behind that cold front that swings through Friday, things will be much cooler! Highs till be in the middle and upper 60s Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

I’ll have more on the forecast at 4, 5, 6 and 10 p.m. today.
