Good Monday afternoon! Our local weather turned hot and muggy again today, with a few pop up showers and storms this afternoon. The heat will continue to build over the next few days, with dangerous values this week. Expect temperatures to slowly drop into the 70s tonight, under a mostly clear sky.

Tuesday and Wednesday will bake us in the summer heat, with most spots reaching the middle to upper 90s during the afternoon. Keep in mind, the heat index will be high, with values approaching 105 both afternoons. A stray afternoon shower or storm will be possible, but most areas remain hot and dry.

Heat index will be an issue this week, with values approach 105 to 108 each afternoon. If you’re working outdoors, it will be wise to use extreme caution and stay well hydrated.

Independence day is on Thursday! Expect a partly cloudy sky, with a sunrise temperature in the middle 70s. We’ll top out around 96 by early afternoon, with a small chance of a pop up afternoon storm.

The tropics remain quiet…
