Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather remains hot across the state today, but a few scattered downpours are cooling some spots off. The risk of a passing afternoon or evening storm will diminish after sunset. Expect temperatures to drop into the 70s overnight.

Thursday will feature a partly cloudy sky, with a few scattered showers and storms being possible, especially during the afternoon. The risk of rain is at 40%. Rain chances will drop to 20% on Friday, with isolated afternoon and evening storms being possible. Highs will top out in the lower 90s, and heat index values will approach 100 degrees.

Next week, we’ll deal with a few scattered showers and storms, otherwise, expect hot weather. Highs will remain in the low 90s, with lows in the lower 70s.

We’re watching 2 tropical waves in the Atlantic. Neither of those appear to threaten the US mainland. We’ll watch those features close…
