Hot Days, Mild Nights… Few Scattered Storms Ahead..Tuesday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640.jpg

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather turned out hot again this afternoon, with most areas well into the upper 80s. Look for skies to remain partly cloudy tonight, as temperatures slowly drop into the 60s. Moisture will gradually increase overnight, so you’ll feel the muggy air.

Moisture will really increase on Wednesday and Thursday. I’ve added a small chance of an afternoon shower or storm Wednesday and Thursday, but most spots remain dry. As the moisture field deepens a little on Friday, you can expect a better chance of a few scattered afternoon storms. This is more of a summer pattern, and no an all day soaking rain event. Highs will drop into the lower 80s on Friday and Saturday.

Drier air will return on Sunday and Monday, with temperatures reaching into the middle or upper 80s both afternoons.

Hot Days… Few Scattered Storms Ahead… Monday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

sera.pngGood Monday afternoon! Our local weather turned out rather hot again this afternoon, with many areas in the middle to upper 80s. Skies will remain mostly clear tonight, with temperatures gradually dropping into the 60s by 10pm. Look for a sunrise Tuesday temperature in the lower 60s.

Tuesday afternoon will remain very warm, with a high of 89 degrees. Some areas will reach the 90 degree mark on Tuesday, under a mostly sunny sky.

Moisture will really increase on Wednesday and Thursday. I’ve added a small chance of an afternoon shower or storm Wednesday, but most spots remain dry. As the moisture field deepens a little on Thursday and Friday, you can expect a better chacne of a few scattered afternoon storms. This is more of a summer pattern, and no an all day soaking rain event. Highs will drop into the lower 80s on Friday and Saturday.

Sunny Days Now, Rain Later in the Week! Sunday forecast update #alwx @wvua23

DMA_Temps.JPGHappy Sunday everyone! We are in for a gorgeous day here in central Alabama with lots of sunshine and highs in the low 80s. We are already sitting in the upper 70s and low 80s across the area. Take dinner outside tonight because temperatures will be very nice and mild for the evening. Our lows for the night will drop into the low 60s with mostly clear skies as a front pushes to our north.

You’re going to see lots of sunshine to start your work week as well! Highs will be sitting in the mid to upper 80s until Thursday. As a ridge sets in over us. I also wouldn’t rule out a few hot spots in central Alabama hitting 90 one afternoon.

By Thursday our next system will start to approach as a front sweeps through bringing some isolated lighter showers on Thursday and a 50% of showers Friday morning. Right now Friday looks to not be a complete washout though, with rain clearing in the morning/early afternoon. Saturday will see times of sun and clouds with a few spotty showers, but again not a washout by any means! Highs Will start to cool off Thursday in the low 80s and upper 70s Friday.

Have a great week!

Warm and Dry Weather Continues – Saturday Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640427.jpg

Expect temperatures to remain into the 80s for the week ahead. The warming trend will continue throughout the week, reaching almost 90 degrees come Tuesday. Alabama will be under the influence of a ridge which is why our temperatures will be on the warmer side throughout the week.

Dry weather will persist until around Thursday, when a front moves through and will provide the ingredients for a few isolated thunderstorms that will carry over into Friday as well. Temperatures will drop into the lower 80s as the front moves through as well.

Some portions of central Alabama will remain dry though, as the showers and thunderstorms will not be linear. We’ll dry out just in time for the weekend ahead, with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to lower 80s for Saturday.

Warm Days Ahead! Not Much Rain… Friday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640 (3).jpg

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather turned out beautiful this afternoon, with temperatures warming into the upper 70s. Some spots over west Alabama touched the 80 degree mark. Expect a quick cool-down tonight, due to a clear sky and dry airmass. Expect lows in the upper 40s late tonight.

This weekend will be warm, with temperatures reaching the lower 80s. Skies will be sunny on Sunday and Monday. I can’t rule out a stray afternoon shower on Sunday, as a weak front approaches and stalls out just north of our area.

Temperatures will warm a bit by the early and middle portion of next week! We’ll reach the upper 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday! A few scattered showers and maybe isolated storms will become possible on Wednesday and Thursday.

Nice Weekend Ahead… Very Warm Next Week… Thursday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640 (1).jpg

Good Thursday afternoon! A large wave of rain and thunder moved across west and central Alabama early during the late morning and early afternoon. At 5pm, rain has ended for west Alabama, with only some light rain still happening near I-65. It is interesting to note that areas east of I-65 have hardly got any rain at all today, while many areas over west Alabama have received near 1″ of rain.

Skies remain mainly cloudy tonight, with a few isolated showers still possible. Most areas will be dry overnight. Clouds move out early Friday morning, with a nice and sunny afternoon. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s Friday afternoon.

Storms Thursday PM… Nice Weekend Ahead… Wednesday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640 (2).jpg

Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather turned out to be a beautiful spring day, with most areas warming well into the lower or middle 80s. Clouds will increase this evening and tonight, as our next system approaches Alabama.

On Thursday, a weak upper air disturbance will provide the needed uplift to get a few showers and storms to developing. We’ll top out in the middle 70s on Thursday, due to extra clouds and storms. The best chance of storms will arrive Thursday afternoon and overnight. Severe weather is not expected, however, there could be a few stronger thunderstorms in the area. I do not expect an all day rain event; in-fact, most areas will get less than 1 hour of rain tomorrow.

This weekend will be warm, with temperatures reaching the lower 80s. Skies will be sunny on Sunday and Monday.

Temperatures will warm a bit by the early and middle portion of next week! We’ll reach the upper 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday!
