Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather started off cold this morning, with a few light flurries near and east of I-65. Sunshine quickly made a return today, with temperatures reaching the upper 40s across the area. Expect a mostly clear and cold night, with lows in the upper 20s.

Another surge of colder air comes in Friday morning. We’ll struggle to reach the middle 40s for highs on Friday, despite plenty of sunshine. Expect middle 20s Friday night, with lower 20s north of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.

Expect a partly cloudy sky this weekend. Temperatures will warm into the 50s. I can’t rule out a stray shower or sprinkle over the weekend, but widespread rain is not expected. We’ll continue to warm on Monday, with lower 60s becoming likely.

Early Tuesday morning, an Arctic front will arrive and drop temperatures into the 30s for highs on Tuesday through Thursday. Lower 20s to upper teens are possible Tuesday night and Wednesday night. It’s possible, we see some light rain transition to light snow on Tuesday, but typically these setups don’t bring much. We’ll watch trends carefully…
