Rain Ahead… Warmer Temps, Then Colder on Sunday… Tuesday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather remain overcast for much of the day across central and west Alabama, with slow clearing. This kept temperatures a little cooler than forecasted, with most spots remaining in the mid to upper 40s. Expect a partly cloudy to mostly clear sky overnight, as temperatures drop into the lower 30s. There could be some fog overnight, so use caution traveling.

Wednesday will feature seasonal weather. Highs will reach the middle 50s under a partly to mostly sunny sky. Clouds increase Wednesday night, then showers move in Thursday morning. The risk of showers will continue into the evening hours on Thursday, but I expect breaks in the rain.

Friday is looking warm and mostly dry. I expect a mostly cloudy sky, but widespread rain is unlikely. A deep surface low will develop to our northwest, sending a cold front through Alabama Saturday night. This will send rain and storms across the state Saturday afternoon into the evening hours.

Much colder air will filter in on Sunday, with a high near 40 for I-20, but areas north of there could stay in the 30s all day. A strong north wind will make it feel colder on Sunday. I expect lower 20s Sunday night, with some teens north of I-20. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 40s on Monday.
