Dry and Sunny Weekend Ahead! Cooler By Mid Week… Friday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather started off wet across the state, as an upper level low moved over central Alabama. Low clouds and occasional showers continued into the afternoon, with a few breaks in the clouds. As the low moves east, the risk of isolated showers will come to an end tonight. Expect temperatures to fall into the upper 30s overnight, under a gradual clearing sky. Patchy fog is possible overnight.

Saturday, I expect a quick return of sunshine, with temperatures approaching the lower 60s by mid afternoon. We’ll fall into the upper 30s Saturday night, then rebound nicely on Sunday. Upper 60s are expected Sunday afternoon.

The warming trend continues into Monday of next week, with a high near 70 over west Alabama. A weak surface front comes in on Tuesday, and we’ll continue with a small chance of a quick shower along the front. Many areas will remain dry through all of next week. Temperatures are trending colder for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
