Scattered Storms Developing… Few May Become Severe… Radar Update – 5:25pm

As of 5:20pm, we’re watching new storms form on a cold front across west Alabama. The cold front is moving through Lamar, Winston and Cullman County at this point. As the front continues to track south, storms will continue to develop ahead of the front over the next few hours. If a storm moves over your area, expect intense lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds. The risk of severe weather is fairly low, but a storm or two may reach severe limits. The best chance of storms now through 12am will occur west of I-65 and south of Fayette. If a storm moves over your area, it will not last that long…

By the way, the SPC has placed south and west Alabama under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight. This includes areas south and west of Tuscaloosa, but doesn’t include Tuscaloosa…
