Hot Days Continue… Monday Afternoon Forecast Updates – 4:15pm

Good Monday afternoon! Our weather has turned out unsettled for much of south and central Alabama this morning and early afternoon. As of 4pm, scattered storms have faded on radar, as most of Alabama is rain-free. The risk of rain for the rest of the evening is fairly low, but an isolated storm or two is still possible through 10pm.

Humidity is much higher today, which has caused a true summer feel to the air. Temperatures range from the lower 90s over northwest Alabama to the lower 70s in east Alabama. The 70s are in response to rain-cooled air over that part of the state. On average, temperatures will reach the lower 80s by 7pm and middle 70s by 10pm. Since dewpoints are forecasted to remain high tonight, temperatures will continue in the 70s overnight. Expect skies to become mostly clear overnight, but some patchy fog is possible, especially where it has rained.

The weather will remain very simmilar over the next few days, as highs reach the upper 80s or lower 90s. There is a chance of scattered, mainly afternoon storms through Friday. The risk of rain continues at 30%. As a weak cold front moves in from the northwest over the weekend, rain chances will increase to 40 or 50%. Keep an eye on the forecast incase things change. I wouldn’t cancel weekend plans just yet.

Good news… The tropics are quiet at this time.
