Radar Update… Storms Over South AL… 2:15pm Friday

Warnings_260

Good Friday afternoon! As of 2:15pm, there is no longer a severe thunderstorm watch over our area. The first complex of storms that developed over northwest Alabama this morning, has shifted into the Montgomery area this afternoon. At this point, there are no additional storms over west or north Alabama. As things heat up this afternoon, look for a few more storms to pop up across the area; mainly after 4pm. The risk of rain for the rest of the day is at 30%, so not everyone will get more rain.

Some areas dealt with severe storms around lunch today, with isolated wind damage and hail reports. As a few more storms get organized later this afternoon and evening, the risk of severe weather looks low. Any other storms that form this afternoon, evening and tonight, will produce lots of lightning. At this time, I don’t expect any storms to pop up between now and 4pm. After 4pm, a few storms will start to re-develop…
