Few Storms on Radar… Thursday Update – 10:15pm

Warnings_257

As of 10:15pm, a few storms have developed on radar. These storms were lined up from Tupelo to Reform to Holt Lake to Clanton to Alexander City. This is a broken band of storms, so not everyone will get rain as they drift south southeast. Expect lots of lightning if the storms move over your area. As we lose afternoon heating through the night, the risk of scattered storms will gradually decrease. There’s a good chance most, if not all, the storms will die out by the midnight hour.

As a cold front moves in late Friday, look for a good chance of rain and storms at any point. There’s a chance an MCS or complex of storms will blast through Alabama sometime on Friday. These things are hard to predict, so keep an eye on the weather as the storms move in. A few may produce wind damage and large hail. Also, expect lots of lightning with any storm that develops. It will not rain all day…
