Dry and Sunny Weekend… Thursday Forecast Update — 4:30pm

Sevenday_640

Good Thursday to you! A rather chilly start to the day this morning and even our afternoon temperatures weren’t exceptionally warm. Certainly felt a bit more like autumn again today.

The cool weather continues tonight with temperatures dropping back down into the mid-upper 40s with clear and calm conditions; however, as we move into the day on Friday, things will heat up quite a bit. By Friday afternoon, temperatures will be near 80° under a sunny sky.

Friday night looks to be a great night for football! Temperatures will cool from the low 80s in the afternoon into the 60s through the evening, and then low to mid 50s overnight Friday night.

For the weekend, a cold front will cool us back down on Saturday. There isn’t any moisture associated with this front. A few clouds and a northwest breeze will be all that signify the front to us. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid and upper 70s. Sunday will be cooler thanks to that dry front. High temperatures will be in the low 70s Sunday afternoon.

This weekend’s football match up between Alabama and Texas A&M will have great weather with that light northwest breeze and temperatures in the mid-upper 70s throughout the game. Plenty of sunshine is anticipated as well.

The race this weekend in Talladega will also have great weather. The sunshine and fair conditions will be perfect to get out and take in the race cars and enjoy the atmosphere.

The tropics have had a burst of energy this week, from Fay last weekend and now to Gonzalo. Both storms have taken aim at Bermuda. While Fay barely missed the island, Gonzalo looks to be steaming right for Bermuda. Gonzalo is currently a Category 4 hurricane with winds sustained at about 145 mph. The island of Bermuda has hurricane warnings already in place, as they anticipate Gonzalo to either clip and make landfall on the island as a major (Category 3+) hurricane.
