The tropics are quiet…
Good Monday afternoon! At 5pm, we currently have a couple of severe storms well north of I-20 that are tracking east northeast. The main risks from the storms this afternoon are from damaging winds and large hail. The best chance of storms this evening will remain north of I-20. A few storms may make it as far south as I-20 tonight, as a weak disturbance moves through the area.
Tuesday will feature similar conditions, with mild temperatures and scattered storms across northern Alabama. The best chance of scattered storms will happen north of I-20 on Tuesday, but I can’t rule out a storm or two as far south as I-20 during the day. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 80s on Tuesday through Friday.
We’ll go mostly dry on Wednesday and Thursday, with more sun than clouds. Expect overnight lows to dip into the lower 60s at night. Our next storm system to arrive will be over the weekend, with the risk of a few pop up showers and storms. We may have to make changes to the forecast, so keep checking back with us for the latest.
