Nice Weekend…Friday Forecast Update – 4:20p.m.

Good afternoon and happy Friday!  Showers and storms will continue to move to the east throughout the evening, as a cold front moves in from the west.  Some of the storms could be strong at times with gusty winds up to 40 mph, and small hail, but the severe weather threat is low.  Most of central Alabama will likely be rain free before 9 pm, but some clouds will continue to stick around until the overnight hours.  Behind the front, winds will shift from the southwest to the northwest, and temperatures will drop into the middle 50’s for lows.  Tomorrow, very nice weather is expected with sunny skies and highs reaching the lower 80’s.  A light northwest breeze will make it feel quite nice for any outdoor activities! Saturday night, skies will remain mostly clear, allowing for those temperatures to drop quickly during the late evening hours into the middle 50’s.

The warm and dry weather will continue on Sunday, with highs reaching the middle 80’s under sunny skies.  Lows will be more on the mild side, with upper 50’s and lower 60’s.  Monday and Tuesday will be very nice as well, with highs in the low to mid 80’s and lows in the 60’s.  Clouds will be increasing Tuesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, moisture begins to increase once again, ahead of our next system moving in from the Plains.  Right now, this does not look like a severe weather setup, with most of the upper level support off to our north; however, storms will be possible due to the very warm airmass, especially on Thursday and Friday.  Temperatures will continue to be on the warm side, with highs in the low to mid 80’s and lows in the lower 60’s.

We’ll keep you posted on any storm threat that could develop next week, as our severe weather season continues!

Have a Wonderful Evening!
