Few Showers on Friday… Turning Nice This Weekend… Thursday Forecast Update – 5:15pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Thursday afternoon! It has been another gloomy day across the state, with a good deal of clouds and some areas of light rain and sprinkles. At 5pm, most of our area is currently dry. The risk of a few scattered showers will continue in the forecast for tonight and Friday, but widespread heavy rain is unlikely. Lows will drop into the middle 50s overnight.

With an upper level low nearby for Friday, we can expect clouds to stick around, with the risk of a few scattered showers at any time. A cool air wedge will build in from the east, keeping temperatures a bit cooler closer to the Georgia state line, with highs in the 50s there! Expect low to mid 60s for highs over west Alabama on Friday.

A surface high builds into the area over the weekend, which will allow for increasing sunshine on Saturday. Highs will reach the lower 70s on Saturday. If you’re going to Bryant-Denny on Saturday for A-day, expect conditions to turn pleasant. Expect clouds before noon, with sunshine likely after noon. Lows will dip into the lower 50s Saturday night. We’ll warm into the upper 70s on Sunday, with lots of sunshine.

Monday through Thursday of next week will feature very warm temperatures. Highs will reach the lower 80s each afternoon, with lows in the 50s.
