Very Warm Days Ahead… Storms Late Thursday… Monday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Monday afternoon! A surface high has moved into the area, keeping conditions mostly sunny and mild. Some areas have reached the 80 degree mark this afternoon, as we’re under the influence of a surface high and an upper air high. The current ridge in place is preventing the major flooding in Texas from reaching our area in the short term.

If you have plans out doors tonight, expect lows to dip into the lower 50s, with a light to calm wind. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight. Tuesday and Wednesday will be very similar to today’s weather conditions, with very warm temperatures. Highs will reach the low 80s each afternoon, with lows in the 50s at night. You’ll notice an increase in clouds by Wednesday, as the system to our west inches our way.

The ridge will break down just enough to allow a weak cold front to push into our area from the northwest on Thursday and Thursday night. Look for a good chance of showers and storms by Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Severe weather appears unlikely at this time. Expect highs in the middle 70s on Thursday and upper 70s on Friday.

Another ridge will build into the area over the weekend, allowing lots of sunshine and very warm temperatures. Highs will reach the lower 80s this weekend…
