Few Strong Storms Wed PM.. Cooler Air Ahead… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4pm #alwx @wvua23

Severe Risk SPC DAY 2.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! The Storm Prediction Center has placed areas north of Demopolis and Livingston under a marginal severe weather risk. Marginal is the lowest on the threat scale. There is a risk storms may produce gusty winds and small hail, but organized severe weather is unlikely. The best time-frame for a risk will come around 4pm in far northwest Alabama and exit east Alabama around 10pm Wednesday. Rain amounts will range 0.50″ to 1″ across our area.

Other than the risk of a few strong storms Wednesday afternoon and evening, our local weather will turn quiet and a bit cooler through the weekend. Skies will become sunny on Thursday, with a high in the upper 60s. Thursday will be a little cooler, but still a fairly nice Spring day. A second surge of even cooler air will take over on Friday and Saturday. Highs will dip into the middle 60s on Friday, with lows in the upper 30s by Friday night and Saturday night. I don’t expect any frost issues Friday night, but a few spots northeast of Birmingham may have a touch of light frost Sunday morning. Expect lots of sunshine this weekend.
