Few Showers/Storms Tonight… Dry Weekend… Thursday Forecast Update – 5pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather includes scattered showers and a few storms on radar across Alabama. Rain chances will increase a little tonight, as a slow moving upper air disturbance moves into the area from the west. I do not expect a solid mass of rain all night across our area, as showers and storms will be more of the scattered variety. Temperatures tonight will fall into the 60s for lows, under a mostly cloudy sky.

A few showers will be possible Friday morning across west & central Alabama, but widespread heavy rain is not expected. There could be an isolated shower or two after lunch on Friday, but drier air will begin to really take over by that time. Highs will reach the upper 70s on Friday.

An upper air ridge will nose into the area over the weekend and early next week. This will allow daytime temperatures to warm into the lower  80s this weekend. Lows at night will dip into the middle to upper 50s, with clear skies. Look for a good dose of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday.

Expect a partly cloudy sky Monday through Wednesday of next week, with highs in the lower 80s and lows in the lower 60s. A stray shower or two will be possible each afternoon, much like a summer pattern, but most areas will remain dry. It looks like it could be the end of next week before our next storm system.
