Summer-Like Weather Pattern Ahead…Sunday Evening Update 6:30 p.m.

Good Sunday evening! Conditions were nice to finish off this weekend with temperatures in the low 80’s again and lots of sunshine. Tonight temperatures will drop down into the upper 50’s; some more locally areas will drop down into the lower 50’s. Monday starts the work week off with mostly pleasant weather. A few areas to the east may experience a stray shower, but most will remain dry.

Tuesday will be similar to Monday, but with a slightly greater opportunity of isolated showers for central Alabama. Wednesday a frontal system starts to work its way towards the state, providing some lift to go along with the available moist air to get some showers and storms developing in the afternoon. Thursday the front will be passing through so showers and storms will be at the greatest potential for development that afternoon. After the front passes, it begins to stall to the south so some showers will still be possible for the day on Friday, but there will be more sunshine than rain.

Next weekend the stalled front will still provide the opportunity for an isolated shower Saturday before it gets pushed away by a new frontal system looking to make its arrival late Sunday or early next week. Keep posted with us as we continue to watch for the timing of this system.
