Severe Weather Risk is Ending in West Alabama… Wednesday Update 6:30am

BB224_lCEAA1cVk

Good Wednesday morning! Other than a couple of tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings, we haven’t had that much damage being reported across Alabama so far. The main area of wind damage we picked up was over Fayette and Winston County. Even where we had a couple of tornado warnings, I haven’t heard of any tornado damage.

Good news… The severe weather risk has ended over extreme west Alabama. The leading edge of the storms have passed Tuscaloosa and Jasper as of 6:30am. The storms are weakening at this time. There’s still a chance a storm or two could reach severe limits between now and 9am across west and central Alabama. Strong winds will be the main issue.

As of 6:30am, rain is falling over much of west Alabama, but the severe weather risk has moved east of Jasper, Tuscaloosa and Livingston. The severe risk will end for the Birmingham, Centreville to Linden areas by 8am. All severe weather issues should be in Georgia by 10 or 11am.

Once the leading edge of the storms reaches your house, the severe risk will end within an hour. After that, you’ll be left with some rain for an hour or two.
