Hot Weekend Ahead… Friday Eve Forecast Update – 8pm

Sevenday_640

Good Friday evening! Our weather has turned out hot today, with highs in the lower 90s across much of Alabama. While it has seemed very hot, temperatures were right on target with average August Temperatures. The isolated afternoon storms parts of the area has dealt with are dying out quickly as of 8pm. The risk of rain for the rest of the night is very low. Expect lows in the lower 70s late tonight.

The weekend forecast is looking hot and muggy. I think a few of us will see a downpour over the weekend, but most of Alabama will remain dry. The risk of rain is only 30% on Saturday and 20% on Sunday. Highs will top out in the lower 90s this weekend with lows in the lower 70s. Skies will remain partly cloudy to mostly sunny.

Drier air will take over early next week, and we’ll notice some change in the humidity. While it will not be cool, it will feel a tad better, with lows in the upper 60s Monday night and Tuesday night. Expect a good supple of sunshine on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. While there is a 10% risk of rain early next week, most of us will not see a drop.

The tropics are rather quiet, but there is a disturbance in the northern Gulf. That feature is moving west and will not impact our local weather. It is highly unlikely that feature develops into anything before moving into Texas Saturday night.
