Warmer Days Ahead… Showers Possible By Mid-Week… Sunday Forecast Update – 9:30pm #alwx

Warnings_946

Good Sunday evening! It turned out to be a little warmer this afternoon, with most areas reaching the 60s. Now that the sun has set, temperatures are dropping quickly; in-fact, most areas will dip into the lower 30s tonight. Expect patchy frost across central and west Alabama tonight, with a freeze and frost combination for areas east of I-65. This will be our last frost and freeze risk for the next few days.

Look for lots of sun on Monday, as high pressure continues to remain in the area. Highs will warm into the upper 60s on Monday and lower 70s on Tuesday. As high pressure moves to the east and a trough moves our way from the west, expect clouds and moisture to increase in our area on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday morning will likely start off sunny, but clouds will move over the area during the afternoon and evening hours. Expect a mostly cloudy sky on Wednesday, as the cold front approaches the area from the west. I don’t expect an all day type of rain or washout on Wednesday, but some showers will become possible late in the day. The higher rain chances will come in Wednesday night and during the day on Thursday. Rain totals will remain pretty low with this system, but we’ll take what we can get!

Cooler air will take over during the evening on Thursday and into Friday. Lows will drop into the 30s Friday night, with highs in the lower 60s on Friday and Saturday.
