High Temperatures and Dry Weather Continues…Saturday Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640Good Saturday evening! Today was a beautiful day as temperatures reached the mid and upper 80s across Central Alabama and the coverage area managed to stay relatively dry. There were a few scattered showers associated along the southernmost portions of the state, but this activity was rather minimal. Expect dry conditions to continue as we go into the late evening and overnight hours, and skies will remain generally clear. Overnight lows will be falling into the lower 60s.

As we close out the weekend on Sunday, plan on yet again picture-perfect weather. Skies will likely feature more sun than clouds and highs will be climbing into the mid and upper 80s. Rain chances will still be absent from the forecast and overnight lows will drop back into the lower 60s.

Starting the next work week, we will begin to enter into a warming trend as highs will soar into the low and mid 90s on Monday and throughout the rest of next week. We also will begin to start feeling some mugginess in the air as humidity levels begin to increase due to returning southerly flow on Tuesday. This will likely cause heat index levels to rise by mid-week, so please be sure and stay hydrated. It is important to note that small chances for rain will make its way back into the forecast by the latter half of the week, but the majority of the coverage area will continue to follow a dry pattern. Plan on isolated showers and scattered afternoon pop-up storms generally everyday beginning Wednesday to Friday. We could see an increase in the number of showers and storms on Saturday, but this really all depends on a system that could be possibly developing over the Gulf of Mexico. Please check back in the next upcoming days for regular updates as this could change.
