Rain/Storms Tuesday, Nice by Mid-Week… Monday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Untitled

Good Monday afternoon! Today turned out to be another nice spring day across the state, with many areas reaching into the upper 70s. Clouds are increasing this afternoon and this process will continue tonight, as a surface low approaches from the west.

Rain will arrive early Tuesday morning over west Alabama, then spread east through the morning and early afternoon. There is a low end severe risk for areas generally south of I-20, with the main risk being damaging winds. A brief tornado can’t be ruled out over southern portions of Alabama, mainly along and south of HWY 80. Temperatures will remain in the 60s all day for northern and central Alabama.

Tuesday night, we’ll fall into the lower 40s, with some 30s north of I-20. Look for a return of sunshine on Wednesday, with a high in the upper 60s.

70s return on Thursday and Friday, under a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky. Models keep our area mostly dry through the weekend, with only a small chance of an isolated shower or storm over the weekend.
