Good Thursday afternoon! As advertised, the back door cold front arrived very early this morning, with a push of drier and slightly cooler air from the east. The front has pushed westward into Mississippi and stalled, where showers and storms are occurring this afternoon.

Our local weather will remain dry through the weekend. Expect highs in the upper 80s to near 90 Friday and Saturday. Skies will remain sunny…

Alabama takes on Southern Miss at Bryant-Denny on Saturday, with an 11am kickoff. Expect a mostly sunny sky during the game, with temperatures warming from 80 degrees to near 90 throughout the game.

In the tropics, Hurricane Humberto, a category 2 storm has now passed well northeast of Bermuda. Humberto will rapidly weaken over the next day or two in the north Atlantic.

Hurricane Jerry in the central Atlantic is a category 1, with winds sustained at 90mph. This storm will likely turn out to sea before reaching the US. We’ll watch it close. Bermuda could take a direct hit next week.
