Good Wednesday afternoon! We dealt with another very hot day, with most of west and central Alabama reaching the upper 90s to near 100. Skies remain mostly sunny this afternoon, and I expect a clear sky overnight.

A weak surface front will move in from the northeast on early Thursday, with a developing east breeze. Temperatures will drop into the upper 80s on Thursday. We’ll drop into the mid 60s Thursday night, and lower to middle 60s Friday night and Saturday night. Expect highs in the upper 80s to near 90 Friday and Saturday. Skies will remain sunny…

Alabama takes on Southern Miss at Bryant-Denny on Saturday, with an 11am kickoff. Expect a mostly sunny sky during the game, with temperatures warming from 80 degrees to near 90 throughout the game.

In the tropics, Hurricane Humberto, a category 3 storm is near Bermuda. Fortunately, the core of the strong winds will remain just north of the Island, as Humberto heads out to sea.

Tropical Depression 10 was upgraded to Tropical storm Jerry in the central Atlantic. This feature is expected to become a hurricane by Friday, but it will likely turn out to sea before reaching the US. We’ll watch it close.
