Wet Now… Lower Humidity Soon… Watching Tropics… Monday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640 (3).jpgGood Monday afternoon! Our local weather started out wet today, with a widespread area of rain and storms impacting much of the area. Light rain and drizzle continues this afternoon for much of our area, and I expect this to continue at times into tonight.

A weak surface front will gradually spread south into Alabama on Tuesday and Wednesday. We can expect a good chance of rain and storms in our local area on Tuesday, but I do expect breaks in the rain, as storms will be a little more scattered compared to today.

Drier air will take over on Wednesday, as the rain chance shifts into south Alabama. We’ll remain dry and sunny through atleast Friday.

We’re watching the tropics. We have a tropical depression # 6 to the east of the southeast US coastline, but that system will not impact the US. We’re watching Tropical Storm Dorian in the Atlantic approach the Lesser Antilles. This one has a chance to impact the US this weekend, so we’ll be watching carefully any changes…
