More Heat and Scattered Storms Ahead…Saturday Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640 (2).jpgGood Saturday evening! Today was another day filled with sizzling heat and dry conditions across Central Alabama. Many highs reached triple digits and Montgomery even reached a record high of 102 degrees, which ties the record back in 2000. Expect conditions to remain dry as we go into the overnight hours with lows in the low to mid 70s.

On Sunday, more extreme heat levels are expected with highs nearing 100 degrees. A light southerly flow will be returning, so dew points will be rising making the air noticeably muggy. Conditions will continue to remain dry except for a stray shower or two throughout the day. Lows will be back in the low to mid 70s.

An upper level disturbance will bring back the chance for scattered showers and storms throughout the rest of next week, so plan on rather standard summertime weather. These developments will mainly occur during the afternoon and evening hours, and Thursday and Friday will likely be the best days for rain across the coverage area.
