Less Humid Air Returns… Wednesday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather is a little more bearable compared to the extreme heat yesterday. A few tiny showers on radar will fade by sunset, as lower dewpoints and lower humidity progress southward into our area. Expect a mild night, with lows in the lower 70s by daybreak.

The air temperature will remain rather hot for Thursday and Friday, with mid 90s being likely. Heat index won’t be an issue for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, due to a dry airmass. Look for low to mid 90s during the afternoon through Saturday, with lows in the lower 70s.

Moisture will increase again late in the weekend and early next week, and this will allow for a risk of scattered afternoon storms to return to Alabama. It appears the better risk of scattered storms will arrive on Monday and Tuesday..

The tropics remain quiet, however, models have hinted at some development in the Gulf in about a week from now. The chance of that appears low, but we’ll keep an eye on trends…
