Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather started off mild and muggy this morning, with a hot afternoon. At 4pm, most areas were in the lower to middle 90s. Expect mainly dry conditions this evening, with the risk of a stray shower less than 5%. Temperatures will fall into the lower 70s late tonight.

By Wednesday, expect nearly identical conditions. Highs will reach the lower to middle 90s area-wide, with a low chance of a pop up shower or storm by mid afternoon.

Thursday through the weekend, we can expect a few scattered showers and storms, with a bit of an increase in the number of scattered showers and storms by the weekend. Much like last weekend, this will not be an all weekend rain event. There may be rain for 1 hour in a single spot before the scattered storms move on. Just like any summer storm that develops in the afternoon heating process, expect a brief period of heavy rain and intense lightning. If you like the rain chance game, expect the risk of any one spot getting a passing downpour at 30% to 40% Wednesday through Friday and 50% this weekend.

The tropics are quiet in the Atlantic Basin.
