Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather started out warm and muggy this morning, followed by scattered showers and storms during the afternoon. Storms will fade away after sunset, as temperatures drop into the 70s.

Friday through the weekend will feature very similar conditions. Look for a mix of sun and clouds, with scattered showers and storms becoming likely during the afternoon and evening. It will not rain all day, but I do expect a fair chance of any one spot getting a passing downpour. Highs will top out in the upper 80s to near 90 Saturday and Sunday.

Next week, we’ll deal with a few scattered showers and storms, otherwise, expect hot weather. Highs will remain in the low 90s, with lows in the lower 70s.

We’re watching a tropical wave in the Atlantic. There is a good chance this one become a tropical storm over the next 5 days, but there is no indication this will impact the US mainland directly. We’ll watch it carefully..
