Good Monday afternoon! At 4pm, Tropical Depression # 3 has officially formed over the northwest Bahamas. This low will rapidly fizzle out in the next 36 to 48 hours as wind shear increases. No serious issues are expected in Florida or the southeast Atlantic Coast.

Our local weather is turning to the attention of a rare late July “cold front.” Technically that’s the type of front, but there will be no cold air associated with the front. Temperatures will cool a few degrees, with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 60s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The lower humidity and cooler nights will be short lived, as humidity increases this weekend.

By the weekend, a few scattered showers and storms will become possible. I do not expect a major rain event, but a few isolated afternoon downpours are possible. I’ve got a 30% risk for a storm this weekend.
