Rain Is on the Way…Friday Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640 (5).jpgGood Friday afternoon! The trend for hot and dry conditions continue today, as most areas in Central Alabama have reached the upper 80s and lower 90s. Expect the remainder of today to be dry with lows in the mid 60s tonight.

On Saturday, expect a bit of relief from the heat as less humid air from the north continues to move into Central Alabama. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s by noon and highs will top out in the lower 90s, but the air will feel comfortable and rather refreshing due to lower humidity levels and a slight northwest breeze.

Sunday is predicted to be warmer than Saturday, but still should be fairly comfortable as drier air moves into our area. Expect a small chance for a few isolated showers during the afternoon hours, but these will only impact the northernmost counties in Central Alabama.

Monday through Tuesday will remain dry, but expect rain to be making its way into the forecast by Wednesday. As of the latest model runs, only a few showers are predicted to occur on Wednesday and Thursday, with thunderstorms occurring on Friday. However, rain chances could increase up to 40-50 percent on Thursday and Friday over the next few days.
