Spring Where’d You Go? Sunday forecast update @wvua23 #alwx

7 Day -10PM SHOW.pngHot Hot Hot!! That is all I can say for this afternoon. Tuscaloosa has broken yet another heat record hitting 98 today. The old record was 95 set back in 2012!

I cannot stress enough the importance to be aware of how long you spend outdoors this week in very hot conditions. Tomorrow will be another sunny HOT afternoon with highs in the upper 90s and feels like temperatures in the 100s. Drink plenty of water and apply sunscreen because the UV index will be in the extreme category as an 11.

There is still a ridge sitting over us with high pressure just east of central Alabama which is causing this extreme heat. Severe weather continues to push through the central US through midweek. But it’s a great week to get to the beach where highs are a little cooler than here in central Alabama.

Much needed rain returns tot he forecast with a chance for a few isolated showers possible Thursday to Sunday.

Have a great Memorial Day and thank you to all who have served and have risked their lives for our country!
