Hot Days Continue. Saturday Forecast update #alwx @wvua23

7 Day -10PM SHOW.pngHappy Saturday everyone! Tuscaloosa set a new high record today touching 97 beating the old record of 96 set back in 1996! Record breaking heat continues as we have the chance to beat and tie records until Wednesday!

We are still sitting under this ridge and high pressure keeping us warm and dry. Water vapor imagery shows bone dry conditions all across the southeast. The Great Plain continue to get incredible amounts of rain and severe storms. Today is now Day 5 of storms for them and they will continue for the next few days.

Sunshine and extremely warm afternoons continue through Wednesday. By Wednesday we will “cool” into the mid 90s and low 90s on Thursday as a small rain chance returns back to the forecast. After a dry week we could use some rain here in central Alabama. Portions of east Alabama are recorded as abnormally low on the drought monitor. This is not severe but a little rain in the state would be nice!

Memorial Day is Monday and feels like temperatures will likely touch into the 100s so stay safe and drink plenty of water.
