Record Breaking Heat This Week! Thursday forecast update #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - 5PM SHOW.pngHappy Thursday everyone! It was a scorching afternoon here in central Alabama. We beat a record high in Tuscaloosa Today hitting 95 beating the old record for May 23rd at 94 degrees. This won’t be the last time you hear that this week either as we sit under a ridge coupled with high pressure and southerly flow. This is why we are getting so hot here in the southeast!

All week temperatures will be at or above 10 degrees from the normal. Sunday highs will flirt with the 100s! The last time we saw this warm of temperatures was September 2018.

Tonight lows will drop to 70 with clear skies. It is warm and muggy now and we won’t see many “cool” nights this week. Plenty of sunshine is expected from now until next Thursday so your Memorial Day weekend plans aren’t going to be impacted by that, just be sure to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen when you step outdoors.
