Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather turned out very hot again this afternoon, with most areas reaching the lower 90s. Tuscaloosa and Jasper were at 93 degrees as of 4pm. Expect a mild and muggy night tonight, with temperatures dropping into the lower 70s after midnight.

Wednesday through Memorial Day weekend will feature very hot weather for May, with temperatures reaching the middle 90s  on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by upper 90s to near 100 by the weekend. Keep in mind, the average high for this time of the year for Tuscaloosa is in the mid 80s. We’ll be near record numbers each afternoon this week and into the upcoming weekend. There is no organized rain chance for the next 7 days. While I can’t rule out a stray afternoon shower or storm, I do not expect much of any rain chance.

The hottest day appears to be on Sunday, with a forecast high near 100, but keep in mind, temperatures will be in the upper 90s on Friday through the following Tuesday, with a heat index near or over 100.

Look for plenty of sunshine on Memorial Day, with a high near 98.
