Hot Days Continue… Thursday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

7 Day -10PM SHOW

Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather is hot today, with some lower 90s showing up on the temperature map as of 4pm. Expect mild temperatures this evening and tonight, with a small chance of isolated storms early in the evening.

The warming trend continues for the rest of the week as upper level ridging builds into the area. We made it into the upper 80s to low 90s today, followed by perhaps widespread low 90s on Friday and Saturday. Areas northeast of Tuscaloosa may stay in the upper 80s on Friday. There is a small chance of a brief shower or storm on Thursday and Friday, but most communities will remain dry. Look for mostly sunny skies.

The weekend is looking very warm, under a mostly sunny sky. We’ll reach the upper 80s to near 90 during the afternoon on Saturday and upper 80s on Sunday. Overnight lows will warm into the upper 60s. A weak front will approach the area late on Sunday and into Monday. We may see an increase in scattered showers and storms Sunday evening into the day on Monday, but widespread rain appears unlikely at this time.

The ridge will build a bit early next week, forcing temperatures into the lower 90s area-wide by Tuesday and Wednesday. We could reach the middle 90s by the end of next week!
