Tornado watch until 11pm for Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Chilton, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry and Marengo…

The storms will reach the west Alabama state line sometime around 5pm, with a risk of damaging winds and a few isolated tornadoes. We’ll need to carefully watch any bowing segments within the line, as they stand the potential to produce widespread wind damage.

There is a risk of a few isolated tornadoes, with the best chance of that happening along and south of I-20.

For west Alabama, areas west of Jasper, Tuscaloosa and Demopolis, you’re in the risk from 5pm to 10pm. The risk shifts east to include central Alabama, roughly near the I-65 corridor from 7pm to midnight. East Alabama, around Gadsden, Talladega and Rockford, you’ll deal with the severe risk between 9pm and 3am. See the map for details.

Please have a way to get warnings Thursday eve and night incase a tornado warning is issued for your area. We cover west and central Alabama non-stop in tornado warnings on tv and online.
