Good Wednesday evening!

We’re still looking at a risk of strong to severe storms to impact our area Thursday evening and into Thursday night. All modes of severe weather will be possible, including isolated tornadoes. But, the main risk will be from damaging strait line winds over 60mph, as a line of storms moves in from the west.

A line of storms will enter west Alabama between 4pm and 6pm, then slowly move east through the early overnight hours. The best shear and instability overlap will be near and south of I-20. This is where there is a higher risk of isolated tornadoes an damaging winds. Understand, all of north and central Alabama is in a risk, but the risk will be more isolated north of I-20. The severe risk will be ending over west AL (west of I-65) around midnight, then ending in our east Alabama counties (east of I-65 by 3am).
