Finally Drying Out From This Weekend – Sunday Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Sevenday_640414.JPG

After this morning’s severe thunderstorms (some of which produced a few tornadoes in central Alabama) our temperatures cooled off to the upper 50s/lower 60s and we were left with a trail of clouds for the day. We remained dry and very windy here in Tuscaloosa.

Speaking of wind, there is a wind advisory in effect for central Alabama until 9 PM tonight. Some gusts could make it up to 40 mph.

The start of the week ahead is actually looking nice here. Expect sunny skies for Monday and that will last until Wednesday. Temperatures will be pretty mild for the week ahead as well, reaching the 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Another system will make its way into the south on Thursday, bringing our next best chance to see thunderstorms. So far, it is looking like a few of these storms could be on the stronger side, but I will continue to monitor this system as we get closer to Thursday.

Rain/thunderstorms will carry over into the early Friday morning hours and once the rain has exited Alabama, clouds will take over for the remainder of Friday.

The weekend does look nice here in Alabama, though. Easter Sunday will be warm, dry and sunny.

Join us live on weekdays at 5, 6 and 10 PM and weekends at 10 PM on WVUA 23 for the very latest on your news, weather and sports.
