Some Weekend Storms… Mild Days Continue… Friday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather started off gloomy this morning with a few showers. The afternoon feels more like spring weather, with higher humidity and warm temperatures. Expect skies to remain partly cloudy overnight, with a low near 60.

A weak front will move northward Saturday, sparking the development of a few showers and storms during the afternoon. The better rain chance will come after 4pm on Saturday. Severe weather is not expected at this time. We’ll top out near 80 on Saturday.

Most of Sunday will be dry, with a mix of sun and clouds. Showers and storms will return Sunday evening into Sunday night, with a few strong storms becoming possible. At this time, I don’t expect a big risk of severe weather, as model data is hinting at coastal convection. Often times, that will disrupt the inflow of unstable air into Alabama and limit the coverage of rain and storms in our part of the state. We’ll watch Sunday evening and Sunday night very close. Showers and storms will remain possible into Monday as well, and we’ll need to watch for any severe weather issues. Again, the risk looks limited at this time.

Next week will feature warmer temperatures, with middle 80s possible by Wednesday.
