Storms Late Thursday… Mild Days Ahead! Wednesday PM Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather started off cool for many areas this morning, but the April sunshine warmed us quickly into the 70s this afternoon. Clouds are increasing this evening, and temperatures will not get as cold tonight in response to that. We’ll drop into the upper 40s to near 50 tonight.

As a weak upper air disturbance moves in on Thursday, showers and storms will increase by late afternoon. I expect the heavier rain and storms to arrive Thursday night, with most areas getting around 1″ of rain. Severe weather is not expected.

Friday and Saturday will be mostly rain-free, with only a few scattered showers and storms. Rain chances will remain at 30 to 40% on Friday and Saturday. Again, it will not rain all day these two days, but there could be a stray shower or two at any time.

Another wave develops and will bring a round of showers and storms into our area late in the day on Sunday and into Sunday night. Showers and storms will exit early on Monday. At this point, I don’t see any signs of severe weather.
