Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather started off very chilly this morning, with all of central Alabama below freezing. Despite the sunshine, areas along and north of I-20 remained in the 40s for highs. Look for a clear and cold night tonight, with all of our area dropping into the middle to upper 20s.

We’ll start off Thursday, with a good dose of sunshine. Temps will reach the lower 50s by mid afternoon. Clouds gradually increase by the late afternoon and evening hours. Clouds continue to increase on Friday. There could be some sprinkles over far west Alabama after 3pm Friday, but the more widespread rain arrives Friday night.

Moderate to heavy rain can be expected on Saturday; in-fact, rain will be falling nearly the entire day. Rain amounts of 2-3″ will be likely in our area. Areas of light rain and drizzle can be expected on Sunday. Look for a cloudy sky, with temperatures in the 40s all day on Sunday.

There is a chance as colder air arrives Sunday night and Monday morning that sprinkles could change over to a few flurries, especially north of I-20. This doesn’t look like an impact issue event, but we’ll keep an eye on trends.
