Dry Through Thursday… Wet Weekend… Monday Afternoon Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Monday afternoon! Our local weather started off cool this morning, with a seasonal afternoon. Areas along and south of I-20 made the lower 60s this afternoon. A chilly northwest wind is ushering in colder air tonight. I expect lows in the lower to middle 30s tonight.

We’ll enjoy a mostly sunny sky on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will only top out in the upper 40s to low 50s both afternoons. We’ll have a light freeze Tuesday night and Wednesday night.

Clouds increase late in the day on Thursday, but we will remain dry through Friday afternoon. A surface low will deepen in the northern Gulf on Friday and move east over the weekend. We’ll deal with a cold rain here locally late Friday through Saturday night, but models continue to show thermal values too warm for wintry weather. We’ll watch the setup…
