Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather remains very wet across the state as of 4pm, with widespread rain covering nearly the entire state. Rain will come to an end this evening from west to east, as dry air takes over tonight. Temperatures will gradually fall into the lower 30s late tonight, with a light freeze for many areas close to sunrise tomorrow. I don’t expect any travel issues, as there will be time for roads and bridges to dry out before we reach the lower 30s.

We’ll continue with the low clouds for much of the day on Thursday, but gradual clearing will take place from southwest to northeast. By mid afternoon, most of our area should be in sunshine. As winds go calm Thursday night, a heavy frost and light freeze is expected. Temperatures will range from 28 to 32 degrees across all of west and central Alabama. Frost is likely well into deep south Alabama.

Skies will be sunny on Friday through the weekend. Temperatures will gradually rebound, with upper 50s for highs on Friday and lower to middle 60s this weekend. Temperatures at night will return into the lower 40s this weekend.

Join us live on WVUA23 weekdays at 5, 6 and 10:00 P.M. and weekends at 10PM for the very latest on your news, weather and sports.
