Warm, Then Rain Chances Usher in Cooldown – Saturday Forecast Update @wvua23 #ALwx

1013SevenDay

A lovely Fall Saturday is underway, with tonight’s temperatures falling back into the mid-60s. Sunday will be warmer than we’ve seen the past couple of days. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s with mostly cloudy skies. That is still about five to ten degrees above average.

The cool down begins as a cold front starts to push south on Monday, which will increase clouds with spotty rain chances. Tuesday, highs will only reach the mid 70s. Tuesday afternoon currently looks like the best chance for showers. The shower chance continues into Wednesday, with an even cooler high of only 70. The exact timing on this front could change rain chances and temperatures. Right now I think that Tuesday is the most likely time frame for the cold front to push south of our area.

Thursday will be clear and cool, as the front will have pushed to our south and dry clear air arrives from the north. Morning lows will be near 50 degrees, with highs only reaching the low 70s. Friday will see a slight warm up, with some stray clouds. A second cold front looks to arrive on Saturday, once again upping rain chances and dropping temperatures.
