Hotober? Forecast update 9pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngGood Friday evening everyone! We finally made it to the weekend. I have heard nothing but questions on why and when these temperatures are going to cool down. We have a warm air mass sitting over us but to our west there is a trough pushing through the west coast and moving our way that is pulling some cooler air from Canada south through the trough. Areas that are being effected by this are seeing some cooler temperatures. Unfortunately, the very edge of this trough will be over us so we will only be seeing about a 5 degree difference in temperatures come mid week around Wednesday.

Wednesday we may also be impacted by some tropical development. There are storms around the Gulf that the National Hurricane Center have said are likely to become a tropical system in the next couple of days and move towards Alabama. More details will be given when they become available.

Right now, conditions are just hot and humid. All weekend expect sunny skies and highs in the 90s. Monday is when the chance for rain returns back into your forecast and that will increase through Thursday. By Wednesday/Thursday we may see some stronger storms from the tropics. Even if the system doesn’t develop it will still rain.
